Lan is a well respected Japanese restaurant known for it's excellent cuisine.  My girlfriend and I have gone there many times and enjoyed their varied menu.  While she usually enjoys one of their many fish dishes (yuck), I prefer their tender and succulent steak.

Outside of the harmony Lan has presented my culinarily dysfunctional relationship, there is only one glaring problem:  the "hostess" we consistently encounter is a rude little bitch who seems to like everyone but us.  As a result of this conflict, we have spent an inordinate amount of time at this fine restaurant's bar.

One night while I was fuming over the 4' tall troll that banished us to the purgatory that is a restaurant bar, I ordered an Asahi beer.  I almost ordered a Sapporo, what a mistake that would have been.  The bartender asked "large or small?"  Without thinking I replied:  "LARGE!"

When the beer arrived, I was busy talking to my girlfriend and didn't bother to look at the bottle until I saw the expression on my girlfriend's face.  When they say large, those Japanese don't fool around.

For a measly $6.50 (a bargain in a NYC restaurant) I received the largest beer I had ever had.  Even though I was too shocked to notice how many ounces the bottle contained, it was easily a foot tall.

While my girlfriend has cooled in her attitude towards Lan (she doesn't like me getting lit before dinner), I now relish annoying the little bitch with a chip on her shoulder.

My rating (bar): 15 cigarettes
