Z Bar
206 Avenue A,
between 12th and 13th Streets
by Patrick (5/23/99)
The music selection at Z Bar seems to vary between heavy metal (bad) and punk (good). They
have a few pool tables in the back of the bar and supposedly have a Ms. Pac-Man, even
though I've never seen it. The drinks are moderately priced and every time I've been
there, the service been quick.
One night I was talking to a bartender who revealed Z Bar's
master plan. With a deep whisky and cigarette voice, he said that Z Bar would finally
unite the metal heads and the punks. With their combined strength, they would kill off the
hippie menace once and for all. After the war, the punks (true to their subversive nature)
would turn around and kill the metal heads. While me, the bartender and Andy Christ were
insanely laughing, a longhair with Motley Crue shirt picked up his money from the bar and
quickly exited.
